On the sidelines of the WCCM-ECCOMAS 2020 congress, both the european ECCOMAS Young Investigators Committee (EYIC) and the young investigator section of the french Computational Structural Mechanics Association (CSMA junior) are pleased to welcome you to special junior events, designed by young researchers (younger than 40 years old) for young researchers.
Junior events occurring ahead and during the fully-digital WCCM 2020
The junior events organized by EYIC and CSMA junior on the sidelines of the WCCM-ECCOMAS 2020 congress, aim at making a young generation of researchers meet and exchange, introduce the themes of the congress providing some basis about them, propose original activities, and have fun!
This is the first time that these events (i) are organized in a fully-digital format, and (ii) are proposed to the WCCM-ECCOMAS congress, with a worldwide public. The proposed events occur both ahead and during the congress so that the week is also punctuated by junior activities. They are dedicated to young researchers (less than 40 years old) that also participate to the congress.
More precisely, these events will consist of:
a junior Workshop held ahead of the WCCM-ECCOMAS 2020 congress, from Thursday, January 7 to Friday, January 8, 2021. The program will consist of several activities among which a school with short classes for and by young researchers, a hackathon, and two special sessions on scientific publication process and ethics in science. The junior workshop is now full (the limit number of participants has been reached). Please consider that any new registration won't be taken into account.
A career forum activity. During this networking activity, young researchers will have the opportunity to interact with scientists at different career stages, to gain essential insights into the academic application process and receive tips for their next career steps. The career forum activity is now full (the limit number of participants has been reached). Please consider that any new registration won't be taken into account.
The Arts and science contest, which purpose is to invite WCCM-ECCOMAS 2020 Congress participants to provide an artistic visual of their research work. An international jury composed of researchers, journalists and artists will choose the pieces of art that will be exhibited during the virtual congress.
